FOCUS Foods Inc was founded by two intrepid friends from MIT. We're looking forward to growing our team in the future!
Co-Founder and CEO
Julia co-founded FOCUS Foods in 2014. She has consistently transformed small start-up operations into successful, self-sustaining entities whose whole is greater than simply the sum of its parts. Prior to graduate school, Julia served as the Director of Research and Policy at the National Women's Business Council within the federal Small Business Administration, reinvigorating the previously defunct department to create a policy agenda focused on meeting the needs of small businesses. She also has deep experience in political research, through her time at Hart Research Associates, in the political start-up world through her nearly two-years as one of the earliest staff members on the first Obama campaign 2007-2008, and in the tech world through her time with Xplana Learning, an educational software start-up. She has also worked as a consultant at Good Company Ventures, a social enterprise incubator, and with the Opportunity Finance Network, a national community development lender.
Julia has an MBA in entrepreneurial management from Wharton, an MPA focused on sustainable development from the Harvard Kennedy School, and an SB in Comparative Media Studies from MIT.
